Executive Director

Berks Arts is seeking a Full Time Executive Director to serve in a full-time capacity to direct and administer all programs, operations and policies of the organization. The Executive Director serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the organization and works closely with the Board of Directors.

This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits including paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal leave, and health insurance reimbursement.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of non-profit leadership experience; Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred); proven fundraising success; strong written and communication skills; working knowledge of operations and financial management and marketing methods.  Need to have ability delegate effectively and ensure deadlines are met. Solid knowledge of computers and software applications including QuickBooks, Donor Perfect, Excel, MS Word, Outlook, WordPress, and Microsoft Office.

Volunteers

There are many opportunities to volunteer with Berks Arts through our special events and office assistance. Please contact our office at 610-898-1930 or email info@berksarts.org regarding your volunteer interests.

  • Office Volunteers: data entry, filing, inventory, project support, etc…
  • Special Event: Production, Front of House (greeters, ushers, ticket takers), Merchandise, Hospitality, Set Up, Tear Down, etc.

Internships

Production Assistant: Assists the Production Manger in all event related production, artistic and administrative functions. Interns will learn how to create in-depth event planning and scheduling for a multi-day, multi venue event; review, analyze and implement performance contracts and artist’s riders; how to develop relationships and communicate accurate information between volunteers, vendors, production crews and event management personnel; and the elements of a contract.

Development/Marketing: Internships are available to learn the basics of marketing, development and fundraising practices of a local arts organization. Based on time of the year, interns will also have opportunity to assist in planning and execution of special events.
