INTERNSHIPS

The Berks Arts Internship Program offers hands-on experience in various areas of Non-profit Arts Management. Interns can assist with event planning for multi-venue festivals, gaining insight into production, contracts and coordination. They may also support marketing efforts across print, broadcast, and social media; help with fundraising through sponsorships, donor campaigns, and grants; or learn arts administration skills such as budgeting, board and personnel management, and organizational leadership. Event Management Assistant: Assists the Leadership staff in all event-related production, artistic and administrative functions. Interns experience in-depth event planning and scheduling for a multi-day, multi-venue festival. They learn the elements of a performance contract, and how to review, analyze and implement such contracts. They also learn how to develop relationships and communicate accurate information between volunteers, vendors, production crews and event management personnel.

Marketing Assistant: Assists the Leadership staff to learn marketing practices of a multi-faceted nonprofit arts organization. Marketing initiatives include print media, television, radio, brochure/flyer distribution, as well as management of multiple social media channels and platforms.

Development Assistant: Assists the Leadership staff to learn fundraising practices of a multi-faceted nonprofit arts organization. Development initiatives include cultivation and management in the areas of sponsorships, annual donor campaigns, grant management, and capital campaigns.

Arts Administration Assistant: Assists the Leadership staff to learn management practices of a multi-faceted nonprofit arts organization. Opportunities include hands-on experience in budgeting and finance, board management, personnel management, and leadership skills, emphasizing the wide array of skills required to lead a nonprofit arts organization.
