Patrick Sweet is a young trombonist, conductor, and educator in the Berks County Area. Originally from Huntingdon, PA, Patrick graduated from Huntingdon Area High School in 2019. While in High School he participated in many PMEA Festivals from the District to the All-State level in band, choir, and orchestra. Patrick triple-qualified for the PMEA All-State Ensembles in 2019 for band, choir, and orchestra and earned 1st chair bass trombone in the 2019 PMEA All-State Orchestra. After High-School, Patrick pursued a degree in music education with a concentration on trombone at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and he recently graduated in May of 2023. While in his undergraduate, he participated in many of the Kutztown University Ensembles as well as the PA Intercollegiate Band where he obtained 1st chair bass trombone in 2022. Outside of his education, Patrick has participated in other local community bands including playing principal trombone for the Ringgold Band and being the Assistant Director of the Exeter Community Band. Currently Patrick Sweet is preparing to relocate to Winston-Salem, NC to pursue a masters degree in trombone performance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he was accepted on a full ride scholarship. Patrick would like to thank his friends, family, mentors, and educators for helping prepare him for his musical journey.
